About Kingston Hub
Kingston Hub is a student-led organisation that provides hands-on volunteer opportunities, placements, project incubation, and activities/events. We help you develop skills and make a difference by teaching you about issues and connecting you with others to address social issues. We have the strength and ability to shape a better world if we work together.
We want to help students make a difference in their communities. We've made a commitment to evaluating our effect in order to communicate and develop how we do it. Last year, Kingston Hub trained 1063 students, 897 students engaged in programmes, and three new initiatives were introduced.
History
Student Hubs began in 2007 with the establishment of Oxford Hub by four individuals who wanted to link like-minded students with each other and with opportunities to take action. They quickly realised that there were insufficient resources for students to participate, so Oxford Hub began assisting students in starting their own volunteer projects.
The tremendous success of Oxford Hub prompted the establishment of Student Hubs, a national charity, as well as the establishment of Hubs at other universities. Hubs have been developed at nine additional universities over the years. In 2014, Kingston University opened its tenth and most recent Hub!
Vision and Mission
Our vision at Kingston Hub has grown over the last six years to include a student body that deals with social and community issues during their university careers and beyond. The mission of the Kingston Hub is to help support students become involved citizens and impact meaningful change in the present and future.
We are committed to offering a variety of resources and encouragement for you to connect with the local community in the ways that are most important to you.
